Biopreparedness International was created to address the inequity in biopreparedness training resulting from countries’ widely disparate financial resources.

First responders can potentially be exposed to diseases and/or become disease carriers. Non-scientific stakeholders are not typically trained in biosafety protocols despite playing critical roles in triaging, containing, and reporting incidents. Training this group broadens their skills and knowledge, leading to quicker response times to outbreaks, and potentially mitigating the severity and duration of outbreaks.

Our courses cover information on field surveillance, recognizing early signs of a biological attack or natural outbreak, strategies for safe interaction with potentially infected individuals, and formally and informally reporting suspected outbreaks.  Course content is adaptable and can be tailored to meet any organization or agency’s needs.

Our goal is to offer affordable, top-quality, easily accessible, interactive training to the world. But we understand that training, although helpful, may not be enough. Often, online training—even if it was created out of a strong passion, a shared vision, and a ceaseless commitment to making learning available—may not be effective.  At Biopreparedness International, we have a unique approach. We offer:

  • Nudge Learning Platform: This addresses the challenge posed by the Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve (Ebinghaus showed that most people forget as much as 75% of what they have learned within one day of learning it). This platform delivers targeted questions and micro-learning bites at timed intervals (for example, daily or bi-weekly), to employees’ mobile devices. This facilitates continuous reinforcement of protocols and procedures, and the repetition of information increases employee retention of the material. With customizable content and multilingual support, agencies can tailor the learning experience to their specific needs while gaining insights through detailed analytics to identify and address learning gaps effectively. (This tool can push content on any topic and in any language).
  • A Gap Analysis Tool: This software is designed to facilitate a comprehensive gap analysis in different governance areas, for example, Biosecurity or Active Shooter preparedness. By leveraging best practices and tailored questioning, this tool generates organization-, agency- or department-specific action plans, offering actionable guidance on addressing identified gaps and monitoring progress over time. This proactive approach enables agencies to effectively, and continuously strengthen their protocols and procedures. (Our gap analysis framework can be used for any content; for example, we have developed a series of governance questions for aging care, hospitals, healthcare facility operations management, and cybersecurity, among other topics).
